NOTE: I found this... dialogue, more or less... on the net sometime between November 1 and February 1. It's so offbeat that I finally decided to put it back on the net, after some editing.

Goddamm This Fucking Weather...

The weather during the last three-four weeks has been terrible. It either has been overcast, damp and wet from rain or snow, and very windy. Many days, at least two of three. And on the rare day, all three.

That seemed to be the dominant weather pattern since winter started. I finally got so fucking sick and fucking tired of it that I'll mention it here. Maybe that will purge my disgust with the weather and cause me not to be so gloomy.

While today is sunny, at least, the temperature as I write this is in the high 20s -- just above freezing. And while it's the second day of spring, snow has been forecast -- just forecast, mind you -- for this coming Sunday and Monday.

But during much of next week, highs are forecast to be from the high 30s to low 50s, lows in the high 20s to low 30s, and only a 10 percent chance of precipitation, mostly rain.

ADDENUM, MARCH 22: To add to the misery, I found a chart in the local newspaper comparing temperatures of a year ago. Highs from March 19-22, 2012, were in the 80s; highs for the same days this year are in the 30s.

Small Favors And Slight Blahs

Thank God, or the Fates, or Whoever, for small favors, for they can offset slight cases of the blahs.

I'm having a case of the midwinter blahs that started last week and probably will continue through the rest of this week, if the weather goes as forecast. The highs have been in the low 40s and the lows have been in the high 20s. Rain or snow has fallen nearly every day; freezing rain dropped for a couple of days.

As of tonight, the forecast for tomorrow is snow showers with 1-2 inches of snow to accumulate. 

In short, the weather's been lousy and it's affected my outlook.

But the small favor offsets part of it.

Last week I received my January electric bill from my city's utilities department. The bill is usually between $25-$30 a month, and last month the amount was $26. But a $100 credit paid for it.

I wondered where the $100 had come from,so I called the uitilities department. A clerk there said the money was from the deposit I had made when I opened my account when I moved  here. If I had paid my electric bills on time for a year, the deposit would be applied to my bills.

So my electric bills should be covered for the first four months of 2013. I can use the money to pay down my credit card debt.

Gas Prices Lately

I give you a few notes about gas prices this month and in nearby areas. It's the second post I've made since I announced I wouldn't be posting regularly, and it's more or less for the record.

During the morning of January 17, I was out around 9:30 a.m. I saw gas prices at two stations -- one at a Speedway convenience store a mile north of downtown, the other at a Speedway store just south of I-70 -- were $3.089 a gallon.

Same company, same price. Don't know if coincidental. 

Then around 11 a.m. January 19, along a strip of State Road 67 between Pendleton and Lawrence/northeast Indianapolis, prices ranged from $3.329 to $3.359 a gallon.
